Let the picture lead
TAT practice begins with careful observation. Note what is visible before deciding what it means. A person near a building does not automatically indicate an emergency, profession or heroic mission. Interpretation is necessary, but noticing the boundary between observation and inference helps keep the account connected to the prompt.

Build a coherent account
A useful written account has a situation, actions that follow from it and an outcome that makes sense. It need not be dramatic. Ask whether the protagonist has enough information to act, whether the action is realistic and whether the conclusion follows from the earlier steps. Avoid adding an impressive plot simply because it is familiar.

Why memorised stories get in the way
A stock story can make you search for a way to fit the picture rather than respond to it. That may introduce details the image does not support or leave the actual situation unexplained. Examples are useful for learning what the activity asks; close them before attempting fresh material and never treat them as an answer key.

A three-column TAT exercise
Use a fresh, ordinary photograph and make three brief notes: visible details, reasonable inferences and the action sequence you propose. Write your account from those notes, then review one unsupported assumption. Repeat with another photograph on a different day. The exercise is for clear thinking, not official timings or score prediction.

- Which details am I inferring?
- Does each action address the situation?
- What outcome follows realistically?
- Can I explain the account without memorising its wording?
