01
Preparation is practice, not a personality makeover
SSB psychology preparation can make an unfamiliar format less distracting, but it cannot replace your judgement or provide an ideal personality. The useful goal is to read instructions carefully, respond to the material in front of you and reflect on how you communicate. March Ahead Academy’s philosophy is to prepare the candidate, not manufacture the response.
02
Build familiarity with each activity
TAT asks you to develop a coherent account from a picture; WAT asks you to respond to words; SRT presents situations requiring a practical response; Self Description asks for grounded reflection. Learn the purpose and instructions for each activity separately. Do not carry a memorised story, slogan or response pattern from one exercise into another.
03
A four-part weekly routine
Use short sessions across the week: one fresh TAT picture, a small set of WAT prompts, several everyday SRT situations and a reflection note for Self Description. Review one feature after each session—relevance, sequence, clarity or realism. Keep the exercise fresh and stop before repetition turns into copying.
- Read the prompt before deciding what you want to say.
- Write or speak in ordinary language you can explain.
- Record one specific observation, not a personality score.
- Keep interview, group discussion and real responsibilities in your routine too.
04
How to use feedback
Ask feedback to identify a learnable habit: an unexplained action, an unsupported assumption, an unclear sequence or a tendency to exaggerate. Preserve your first attempt so you can see whether the habit changes on new material. No practice response predicts a recommendation, and no external model is an official answer key.
05
When individual guidance helps
If you are unsure where to start, bring a small sample of independent work to a one-on-one consultation. Online coaching is available, with in-person visits by appointment. Guidance can be paced around a first attempt, a repeat attempt or a specific psychology activity.
